A great man passed away virtually unnoticed from this planet in 2004. In the small group of top aerospace scientists of the world, Mr. Barry V. Davis was a man who quietly commanded reverent respect. In every way, Canada’s Barry Davis of the Avro Arrow and Bras d'Or 400 hydrofoil fame was a modern day da Vinci. After three pinnacle world class engineering achievements, he toiled his life in quiet servitude to bring the world the Blue Energy Ocean Turbine. This ocean energy extraction concept was first developed by aerospace engineer Barry Davis and then proven in six working prototype trials with Canada's prestigious National Research Council. The device has long achieved commercial extraction efficiencies and is ready for commercialization.There is nothing to mourn when an accomplished man of advanced years goes over to greater horizons, but in the case of Barry Davis, there is a tremendous sadness in that he held steadfast to a great dream for humanity, and like many great inventors before him did so at his own peril. Part of the sadness is that he wished his dream on us all with an urgency that was unheeded.
